The seminar offers students the opportunity to improve their understanding of academic and political discussions on how the EU must change to prepare for further enlargement and foster integration. Students deepen their knowledge on political institutions, procedures and processes in the European Union. They engage in the analysis of political and institutional opportunity structures, focusing on the work of EU institutions, looking into current policy fields and the debate on Treaty change as a condition for further enlargement. Students develop own projects in teams specialising on their areas of interest. The course includes an excursion with site visits to Brussels together with students from the University of Bath.
